Born in Hong Kong, Dr. Karim and his family moved to Vancouver in his childhood.
Dr. Karim completed his dental and orthodontic specialty training locally at UBC. He has been practicing multi-disciplinary dentistry in the lower mainland since 1999. As a certified specialist in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopaedics he has completed his fellowship with the Royal College of Dentists of Canada and is a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics.
Pursuing an interest in international public health, Dr. Karim has completed a Master's Degree in Public Health from Boston University.
Dr. Karim has enjoyed teaching orthodontics as a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Dentistry at UBC. Apart from private practice and teaching, Dr. Karim also enjoys clinical research. Read Dr. Karim's publications.
When not in clinic, Dr. Karim enjoys community activities, biking, sculling, and spending time with his parents, wife, and three children.
